Join W@Competition Talk: The interface between sport & competition law
The increasing commercialisation of sport raises questions of how to best regulate the sector. Are professional sports “natural monopolies” that should be exempt from competition law? Or are they a commercial activity like any other?
A panel representing the European Commission, the sports industry and private practice will discuss the interface between competition law and rules adopted by sports governing bodies. The discussion will address, among other questions, the European Commission’s decision against the International Skating Union (ISU).
Join this lunch discussion to hear from:
- Ana Garcia Castillo, Deputy Head of Unit E2, DG COMP
- Aine Power, Deputy Legal Director, Fédération Equestre Internationale
- Violetta Bourt, Senior Associate, Norton Rose Fulbright
WHEN: 16 May, 12:00 – 14:30 lunch will be served
