Viviana Blanco Barboza

Economist specialized in competition policy with more than 15 years of experience. Viviana currently serves as a Commissioner at Coprocom – Competition Authority of Costa Rica. Until recently, she he served as General Director of Market Conditions at the Investigating Authority of the Federal Telecommunications Institute of Mexico. Previously, she worked for eight years at the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE) of Mexico, where she served in senior positions, including as Deputy Director General of Plenary, Director of Studies and Concentrations and Director of Competition Analysis. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Costa Rica, MA in Economics from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas and MA in Competition and Market Regulation from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She has been a professor of industrial organization at the Faculty of Economics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
