Dr. Vandy M. Howell

A Senior Vice president at Cornerstone Research, Vandy is an experienced economist who has consulted on high-profile antitrust and competition matters for more than two decades. She has had meaningful impact throughout her career as a professional consultant, expert witness, author, speaker, teacher, and leader in the antitrust community. Who’s Who Legal has recognized her multiple times as a leading competition economist. As a consultant, Vandy has vast antitrust and competition experience, including high-stakes matters such as In re Wholesale Grocery Products Antitrust Litigation and Anderson News LLC et al. v. American Media Inc. et al. She has also served as a testifying expert, filing expert reports and giving deposition testimony in multiple antitrust matters. A former head of Cornerstone Research’s San Francisco office, Vandy was instrumental in founding and leading the firm’s Women’s Forum, which fosters networking opportunities and discussion of topics relevant to women professionals. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
