Deputy Director, Bureau of Competition at the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). During an extraordinarily active period for the Bureau, she has handled various enforcement, policy, and administrative matters, drawing on her extensive agency experience and deep knowledge of antitrust law. A 24-year FTC veteran, she previously served as Chief of Staff, Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Policy Planning, and Attorney Advisor to three Commissioners. She joined the FTC as a staff attorney in the Bureau of Competition after several years in private practice. Tara is a longtime leader in the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law, including terms on the Council and as Editorial Chair of the Antitrust Law Journal. She was a 2017 recipient of the FTC Chairman’s Award (the highest honor for FTC staff), a 2013 recipient of the Commission’s Award for Excellence in Supervision, and a five-time recipient of the Commission’s Janet D. Steiger Outstanding Team Award.
