Market Development Advisor at Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)

• Worked on the successful delivery of the detailed market design recommendations within the Market Renewal Program (MRP), which outline changes necessary to address longstanding concerns with the design of Ontario's wholesale energy markets. The MRP is expected to deliver over $800M in system-wide benefits to Ontario in the first 10 years. • Developed various electricity market design options and recommendations, such as the market power mitigation framework for the energy market and capacity auction. • Delivered technical position papers, presentations, stakeholder consultation materials, briefing notes, and external and internal market manuals. • Conducted in-depth research and analysis of the US, European and Canadian power markets and regulatory frameworks in order to provide advice as relevant to different aspects of the Ontario wholesale energy market, capacity auction and tariff rate design.
