Jérôme Vidal

Head of the "Competition and State Aids" unit at the General Secretariat for European Affairs to the Prime Minister. He was previously Deputy Head of the Mergers Unit at the Autorité de la concurrence. He first held a position as writer officer at the 3B unit for national mergers control at the DGCCRF, before becoming seconded National Expert at the European Commission Directorate for Competition (DG COMP). Then he was appointed European affairs Adviser to the Autorité de la concurrence President and Permanent case officer at the Autorité de la concurrence Mergers Unit, before becoming General Inspector at the DGCCRF and Head of the city of Lille Competition investigations interregional brigade (BIEC – Brigade interrégionale d’enquêtes de concurrence), and then Head of the entire Competition control services for the Nord – Pas-de-Calais region.
