Senior Deputy Commissioner, Mergers at Competition Bureau Canada since 2015. Jeane first joined the Bureau in 2009 as Special Legal Advisor to the Commissioner where she provided strategic input on a range of issues, including the conduct of litigation. In 2011, Jeanne was appointed Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Division B, of the Criminal Matters Branch. She has also served as Associate Deputy Commissioner, Criminal Matters Branch. Jeanne previously served as Executive General Manager at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Before joining competition agencies, she worked in private practice, including as partner at McCarthy Tetrault practising exclusively in the area of competition/antitrust and related litigation. Jeanne obtained her B.A. in Political Science from Memorial University, and her LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1999.
