Jānis Račko

Member of the Board at the Konkurences Padome – Latvian Competition Authority since 2014. Previously Jānis held different positions started as a lawyer and later continued working as Head of Legal Unit and Executive director in the authority. Working on the Board his experience covers wide range of competition issues including matters related to supervision and decision making in the antitrust and merger investigations, participation in the drafting of the competition legislation including the later significant changes related to transposition of the ECN+ directive. Essential part is also involvement in advocacy and education for the competition law principles and competitive neutrality in the sectoral legislation to maintain the level playing field and promoting understanding pro-competitive culture in general. Jānis also represents authority in the international cooperation matters in the OECD and ICN.
