Irene Sewczyk

Senior case handler within the Bundeskartellamt’s (BKartA) 6th Decision Division. Irene was a member of the „Think Tank Internet Platforms“ and managed the BKartA's investigation into Facebook. Irene studied law at Freiburg University and received her PhD from Max-Planck-Institute for comparative and international private law in Hamburg. She has worked at the BKartA since 2004: has acted as the authority’s spokesperson and was also a case handler in several cartel cases.
