She is the former Chair of Mexico’s Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE). Alejandra was the first woman to preside over COFECE. During her eight years as Chair, in 2013 - 2021, the agency handled several unprecedented antitrust cases for legacy industries. Throughout her tenure, she also served as Vice President of the ICN, and as a board member of the OECD’s Competition Committee. Previously, Alejandra worked as Competitiveness and Regulatory Project Director at the Mexican Institute of Competitiveness.
